Abstract

Bladder exstrophy is a serious birth defect characterized by a failure to close the subumbilical abdominal wall, the anterior wall of the bladder, often associated with an abnormality of the urethra, pelvic girdle, external genitalia, and perineum. Its diagnosis
is generally made antenatally in the fetus or at birth in the newborn. We report a case of bladder exstrophy diagnosed late in a 24-year-old patient with a pregnancy of 34 weeks of amenorrhea and 6 days. Our attitude was to follow up on the pregnancy and to perform a caesarean section. Surgical management of bladder exstrophy was not done but a follow-up in urology was recommended after the caesarean section.
