Abstract

Wolff Parkinson White syndrome is a congenital disorder of the conduction system characterized by the existence of an atrioventricular accessory bundle. It manifests by paroxysmal rhythm disturbances which can be revealed by syncope and palpitations. These manifestations occur at any age with two frequency peaks, namely childhood and adolescence. The seriousness of Wolff Parkinson White syndrome is due to the risk of syncope or even sudden death that it can cause. Although the existence of accessory fascicles may remain silent and asymptomatic, electrophysiological exploration remains essential in order to determine patients at lethal risk and to establish adequate management to prevent its complications.
